What is involved in Leaderships Scotts Bluff? Students are immersed in a program that honors their leadership skills, networking opportunities, and community discovery. The program consists of an orientation, seven full-day sessions of varied curriculum, one two-day session in Lincoln, NE, and a class project. Time, dedication and willingness to both learn and teach are key components of the program.
What candidate is suggested for the program? The ideal candidate is a member of the community that wants to become engaged in the process of making Scotts Bluff County a better place. They can be an executive, a volunteer, self-employed, work for government or the private sector. The key is that they want to be a part of the solution.
When are the sessions? There are seven full-day monthly sessions starting in September and ending in April. In addition, there is a two-day session in Lincoln, NE. The Board of Directors also hosts an orientation in September, and a graduation reception in May.
Are all sessions mandatory? In order to graduate from the program, participants are only allowed to miss one session or two half-day sessions.
Is there any travel involved? Travel is minimal within Scotts Bluff County with the exception of the legislative trip to Lincoln, NE which is an overnight trip.

How do I know if I'm accepted? Completed applications will be reviewed by the Leadership Scotts Bluff Board of Directors and you will be notified via email once you have been interviewed.
When are interviews? Dates for panel interviews with the Leadership Scotts Bluff Board of Directors are held in August in the Chamber's boardroom. Applicants will be notified to schedule an interview time via email.
What does it cost? The tuition for the Leadership Scotts Bluff program is $600 per participant.
What about the class project? Every class plans and develops a fundraising event called Hoops 4 Heroes, which is held in March. The class is responsible for selecting a hero (or heroes) of choice as recipients of the raised funds. Additionally, the class must plan virtually every aspect of the event: fundraising, entertainment, catering, theme, etc.
